Floral 18th century corset

As you can tell I have a great love for corsets and as a costume maker my fav fashion period is the 18th century. I mostly like the 18th century because of the old French court fashion in versailles.

I know from a historical point of view my costume is totally incorrect but a girl needs to have fun. I mean look at the Tudors the scrip was more incorrect then the costumes lol but we totally loved it.

For the photo-shoot of my corset I made a matching hat just to give it a bit of extra fun. This is the first big hat that iv made so it's not too great bit hopefully the next one will be much better.

Visit to Birmingham museum

Went to Birmingham the other day after I finished shopping I had a nice walk and found out that there was a lovely museum. I guess that after seeing so much retail one can get a bit tired and the best cure for that is art. There is nothing as nice as walking around a relaxing art gallery viewing all the wonderful creations on display.

I was so excited when I realised that that they had a pink corset of display. It was so tiny it almost look like a child corset but I'm not too sure. The colour was a lovely dusky pink with an added black lace trim.

By the look of it seems to be made out of silk and channels look like cotton but not too sure. The really nice thing about it is that it has the makers name inside but was really hard to see.

I totally recommend having a look around Birmingham art gallery they even give you permission to take photos and you can't say that for most art galleries.
